Artist's Statement

"This above all: To thine own self be true." – William Shakespeare, Hamlet, c. 1623

These words are a guiding principle in my life and work. I find peace, understanding and direction when I look within. Art invites us to imagine new possibilities, and my insatiable curiosity fuels an endless quest for knowledge. This drive pushes me to explore and uncover new depths with each artistic exploration.

In my paintings, I aim to capture and express emotions that inspire awe—the wonder we feel in nature, in music, and in life’s rare, unforgettable moments. I want to evoke that feeling of pause and reflection, capturing the energy, light, and spirit of the natural world and life experiences. Memories are incredible gifts that allow all of us to keep love alive.

As I paint, a dialogue unfolds between myself and the canvas. Sometimes, I work from an image or a drawing; other times, the inspiration exists only in my mind. My work is a series of layered interactions, with each layer communicating with the others. Mistakes become opportunities. Every adjustment adds depth, nuance, and organic growth. These revisions lead me to unexpected discoveries, creating connections that form purposeful, evolving layers. Texture can be found in my work to facilitate depth and a tactile sense. The work continues until everything resonates and aligns. Art emulates life.
